The Honorable Linda Evans Parlette
Washington State Senate (R)
Sen. Parlette represents the 12th Legislative District, which includes the Wenatchee and East Wenatchee area, Mazama to Coulee City, Winthrop, Leavenworth, Soap Lake and surrounding cities. She is Deputy Republican Leader. Sen. Parlette served as Deputy Majority Leader in 2004; Deputy Majority Floor Leader in 2003; and Co-Chair, House Health Care Committee 1999-2000. She was elected to the Senate in 2000 and re-elected in 2004. She was elected to the House in 1996 and re-elected in 1998. She is a member of the following Standing Committees: Labor, Commerce, and Research Development (ranking member); Health and Long-Term Care; Ways & Means; and Rules.
She also serves as a member of the following Special Committees: National Conference of State Legislatures' (NCSL) Health Committee; Law Enforcement Officers' and Fire Fighters' Retirement System Plan 2 (LEOFF Board), Board of Trustees; Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee; Co-chair, Joint Legislative Task Force on Mental Health Services and Financing (Mental Health Task Force); Joint Select Committee on Health Disparities; Joint Legislative Task Force on Unemployment Insurance Benefits; Task Force on Long-Term Care Financing and Chronic Care Management. Former Member: Washington State Institute for Public Policy; Joint Legislative Task Force on Nursing Homes; Washington Council for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.
A graduate of Washington State University, with a B.S. Pharmacy (with honors), she has served as a member of numerous public service clubs, service organizations, associations and boards and is the recipient of many leadership and service awards. A fourth- generation Chelan area resident, Sen. Parlette resides in Wenatchee with her husband, Bob. They have five grown children and two granddaughters.
