Introduction
In 2006, the Washington State Legislature passed
Second Substitute Senate Bill
2SSB 6823, requesting that the Washington State Liquor Control
Board convene a task force to conduct a comprehensive review of the
current regulatory system controlling the sale and distribution of
beer and wine in Washington state.
Tied House Review Team meetings have concluded.
A concept for change
was developed and shared with the Tied House Review Team and other
stakeholders to gather feedback on impacts to the public if the tied
house statute was changed to be more open. Over fifty responses were
submitted on financial interest/ownership and money/money's worth.
The issue paper describes the process used to build the concept and
a summary of stakeholder comments. A list of respondents is also
included.
