Alcohol Sales Permits

This is a listing of training resources and useful information for licensees and employees who sell and/or serve alcohol. The training courses are intended to increase your understanding of the rules, regulations and training requirements of Washington State's alcohol laws.

  • Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST)  - also known as a Class 12 or Class 13 Permit
    If you serve alcohol in a restaurant, lounge or conduct tastings at a grocery store, this training is mandatory for you and you must receive a permit. By law, managers, bartenders and other employees who serve alcohol or supervise the sale of alcohol for on-premises consumption at a liquor licensed establishments is required within the first 60 days of employment.
     
  • Responsible Vendor Program (RVP)
    A voluntary training program for spirits, beer and wine retail licensees and their employees.  If you sell alcohol at a store to be taken off-premises, this training is for you.
