CASCADE PIZZA FACES POSSIBLE LIQUOR LICENSE CANCELLATION

Olympia - The Washington State Liquor Control Board has recommended a liquor license cancellation for Cascade Pizza & Italian Cuisine Restaurant III, in Mount Vernon.

On December 26, 1998 three patrons of Cascade Pizza left the premises and shortly collided with a telephone pole. All three patrons were immediately killed. The blood alcohol of the driver was determined to be at .42 and each passenger at .13.

After a lengthy investigation by Liquor Enforcement agents, it was determined that the licensee or employee of Cascade Pizza supplied liquor to persons apparently under the influence of liquor and allowed the persons to continue to consume liquor on the premises. The City of Mount Vernon has requested non renewal of their liquor license.

If the licensee chooses to accept the license cancellation, it will be effective April 16, 1999. The licensee may request an informal discussion with the Agent in Charge of the Everett office, or request an administrative hearing. The licensee has 20 days to respond to the Board.
