Yakima County- Liquor Control Board enforcement agents conducted 17 compliance checks on Saturday, October 26, in Yakima County. During the compliance checks, an 18 or 19 year old will enter a restaurant, tavern, or grocery store to attempt to buy alcohol. Of the 17 compliance checks, the following 3 businesses sold alcohol to a minor:

- Maid O’ Clover 51 Firing Center Rd. Yakima
- Clarks Empire Foods 3361 Mapleway Rd. Yakima
The Liquor Control Board commends the following businesses for passing Saturday’s compliance checks:

The clerks who sold alcohol to the minor received a criminal citation. The liquor licensees will receive either an administrative violation notice (AVN) or a written warning from the Liquor Control Board based on past offenses.
The first time AVN penalty for selling alcohol to a minor is a five-day suspension or a $500 fine, a second offense is a 7-day suspension with no monetary option, a third offense is a 30-day suspension with no monetary option, and a fourth offense is a license cancellation.
