Bellevue- Liquor Control Board enforcement agents conducted 11 tobacco compliance checks on Sunday, October 27, in Bellevue. During the compliance checks a 15 or 16 year old will enter either a restaurant or a grocery store to attempt to buy cigarettes. Of the 11 compliance checks, only one business sold cigarettes to a minor.

The Liquor Control Board commends the following businesses for passing Sunday’s compliance checks:
- Albertson’s 15100 SE 38th St, Ste 200, Bellevue
- Brown Bear 3724 128th Ave SE, Bellevue
- Chevron Stations 3725 150th Ave SE, Bellevue
- Eastgate Texaco 3670 150th Ave SE, Bellevue
- Factoria 76 3727 128th Ave SE, Bellevue
- Quality Food Center 3550 128th Ave SE, Bellevue
- Rite Aid 15100 SE 38th St., Bellevue
- Safeway 3903 Factoria Square Mall, Bellevue
- Southgate Oriental Grocery 3900 128th Ave SE, Ste D, Bellevue
- 7 Eleven 3711 128th Ave SE, Bellevue
Clerks who sell tobacco to a minor receive a $50 fine for a first time offense. Licensees receive a penalty based on the following guidelines:
- First offense $100 dollar fine,
- Second offense $300 dollar fine,
- Third offense $1,000 dollar fine with a six-month license suspension and,
- Fourth offense is a $1,500 dollar fine with a 12-month license
suspension.
