Kennewick- Liquor Control Board enforcement agents conducted 13 compliance checks on Friday, November 22, in Kennewick. During the compliance checks, an 18, 19 or 20 year old will enter a restaurant, tavern, or grocery store to attempt to buy alcohol. Of the 13 compliance checks the following 4 businesses sold alcohol to a minor:
- Jacksons Sports Bar 3320 W. Kennewick Ave Kennewick
- Double Dragon 3107 W. Clearwater Ave. Kennewick
- Mr. E’s 325 Union St Kennewick
- Jet Mart Conoco 101 N. Volland Kennewick
The Liquor Control Board commends the following businesses for passing Friday’s compliance checks:

- Fred Meyers 2811 W.10th Kennewick
- Sea Galley 3180 W. Clearwater Kennewick
- Henry’s Restaurant 3013 W. Clearwater Kennewick
- China Café 131 N. Ely Kennewick
- Cinco DeMayo 5011 Clearwater Kennewick
- Tesoro 2go 4212 W. 27th Kennewick
- Sun Mart 4201 W. 27th Kennewick
- Walmart 2720 S. Quillian Kennewick
Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor receive a criminal citation. Liquor licensees receive either an administrative violation notice (AVN) or a written warning from the Liquor Control Board based on past offenses.
The first time AVN penalty for selling alcohol to a minor is a five-day suspension or a $500 fine, a second offense is a 7-day suspension with no monetary option, a third offense is a 30-day suspension with no monetary option, and a fourth offense is a license cancellation.
