Bremerton- Liquor Control Board enforcement agents conducted 14 tobacco compliance checks on Friday, December 6, in Bremerton. During the compliance checks a 15 or 16 year old will enter either a restaurant or a grocery store to attempt to buy cigarettes. Of the 14 compliance checks, only one business sold cigarettes to a minor:
The Liquor Control Board commends the following businesses for passing Friday’s compliance checks:

- Rite Aid 4220 Wheaton Way
- Handy Andys 4814 Hwy 303 NE
- Fred Meyer 5050 State Hwy 303
- Walgreens 6432 State Hwy 303
- Market Express Chevron 6835 State Hwy 303
- R & H Market 3710 Kitsap Way
- Texaco Star Mart 3800 Kitsap Way
- Rite Aid 4205 Kitsap Way
- Midtown Market 1534 6th St
- 7-11 802 6TH AVE
- Safeway 900 Callow
Clerks who sell tobacco to a minor receive a $50 fine for a first time offense. Licensees receive a penalty based on the following guidelines:
First offense $100 dollar fine,
- Second offense $300 dollar fine,
- Third offense $1,000 dollar fine with a six-month license suspension and,
- Fourth offense is a $1,500 dollar fine with a 12-month license suspension.
