Washington Wine Month 2004

“Washington Wines…Celebrating 20 years of Class in Every Glass”

Olympia- This August marks the twentieth year for the Washington State Liquor Control Board’s month-long event that features our state’s contribution to the wine industry. Visit your local liquor store and see the wide selection of Washington wines featured during Washington Wine Month.

There has been a great deal of change over the past twenty years. Strengthened by strong sales, international recognition, and statewide consumer demand, the Washington wine industry is growing rapidly. Washington State is currently the second largest wine-producing state in the nation. Production of Washington wines has more than doubled over the past decade making wine grapes the state's fourth largest fruit crop. The number of wineries in the state has rose 18.5% since last year with a total of 307 wineries.

The Liquor Control Board hopes you enjoy this year’s selection of fine Washington wines during the nineteenth annual Washington Wine Month.
