February 10, 2005
VANCOUVER –
A grand opening set for Feb. 10 will mark the official opening of the
new Riverstone Marketplace liquor store, 3425 S.E. 192nd Ave.
The celebration will begin at 11:30 a.m., with refreshments served
after a welcome and opening remarks.
The new store, one of two planned this year for rapidly growing Clark
County, opened it doors to customers on Jan. 21. The second store,
scheduled to open in late April, will be located in Orchards.
The two new Clark County stores are the among four new state liquor
stores opened during the 2003-2005 budget cycle. These four stores are
the only new stores opened in the last 20 years, although many stores
have been moved and expanded to meet the demands of growing
communities.
The Washington State Liquor Control Board’s 160 state stores serve the
most densely populated communities. Smaller, or more rural communities
are typically served by one of LCB’s 153 contract liquor stores.
Contract stores are privately operated stores, often co-located with
another business.
