The
Washington State Liquor Control Board issued a 180-day emergency
suspension for Lilsid’s Pub at 6316 McKinley Ave. E., Tacoma on
Friday, June 10, 2005 following an investigation by the Tacoma Police
Department of allegations that illegal drug sales were occurring in
the establishment.
The emergency suspension,
requested by the Tacoma Police, was issued under RCW 66.08.150(4),
which authorizes the Board to summarily suspend a liquor license for
up to 180 days without a prior hearing when it finds the public
health, safety or welfare require emergency action.
Tacoma police conducted the investigation of illegal drug sales at
Lilsid’s between March and June of 2005. The police confirmed the sale
of illegal drugs on three separate occasions during that period. The
police have charged the liquor licensee, Sidney R. Springer Jr., with
selling marijuana, vicodin and oxycontin from the licensed premises.
