OLYMPIA – On March 8 the Washington State Liquor Control Board issued a 180-day emergency
suspension on the Rang Dong Restaurant located at 2302 Harrison Avenue following an investigation by the Washington State
Liquor Control Board and the Olympia Police Department.
The emergency suspension authorizes the Board to summarily suspend a liquor license for up to 180 days without a prior
hearing when it finds that the establishment is affecting public health, safety and/or welfare and is not complying with
state liquor laws and regulations.
The Liquor Control Board and Olympia Police Department conducted a walk-through at Rang Dong on March 4, 2006. The walk-through was
a follow-up in response to two previous violations of serving alcohol to minors and allowing minors to frequent the premises.
During the March 4 walk-through, the officers found that the licensee failed to conduct the licensed premise in a manner in
compliance with laws and regulations. The licensee or employees resisted or opposed the officers, thus constituting disorderly
conduct, and the licensee, or employees engaged in and or allowed behavior that provokes conduct that is a threat to public
safety in violation of WAC 314-11-015.
Anyone who has information regarding illegal activity at a licensed establishment is encouraged to report that information
to the Liquor Control Board’s toll-free tip line at
1-888-838-3956.
