2006 OLYMPIA
– The Washington State Liquor Control Board
issued a 30-day license suspension to the 7th
Rail, 1911 N. Maple St. in Spokane. The suspension
is effective at 10 a.m. March 15 and concludes on
April 14.
On January 27
the licensee received an administrative violation
notice for a hidden ownership violation with a
proposed penalty of a license cancellation.
Administrative charges included:
- License
not reflecting true party of interest
- Misrepresentation
of fact to the Board
- Failure
to furnish required information
A subsequent
violation occurred on February 11 for refusing to
allow an inspection of the premises. Based on
mitigation, later cooperation, and additional
license restrictions, the licensee was allowed to
keep the liquor license with a total of a 30-day
license suspension for both violations.
The 7th Rail
is licensed as a spirits, beer and wine
restaurant and lounge, which permits it to serve
liquor by the drink. While the suspension is in
effect, the 7th Rail may not sell, serve, or
allow consumption of alcohol on the premises, but
it may remain open for food service.
