OLYMPIA – The Washington State Liquor Control Board today issued an
emergency suspension of up to 180 days for Mr. Lucky, a spirits, beer and wine restaurant at 315
First Avenue North, Seattle, effective at 5 p.m. During the suspension period, the LCB will take
action to permanently revoke the Mr. Lucky liquor license.
The suspension follows an intensive investigation of an April 15 shooting at the club by the
Seattle Police Department and Liquor Control Officers. That incident and a series of ongoing
operational problems, liquor law violations and other issues relating to public safety were
cited as reasons for the emergency suspension.
The Liquor Control Board has charged the club with failure to conduct the licensed premises in
a manner consistent with laws relating to public disturbances; allowing one or more minors to
frequent an area classified as off-limits to those under 21; furnishing alcohol to one or more
persons under 21; and engaging in behavior that provokes conduct which presents a threat to public
safety.
In issuing the emergency suspension, Liquor Control Board members agreed that allowing the club
to continue to operate poses a public safety threat to the immediate community and to the city
at large given the amount of police and fire services required to respond to the April 15 incident
and many other disturbances that have occurred at the club over the last two years.
