LIQUOR LICENSE SUSPENSION ISSUED AT CHENEY GROCERY STORE

September 25, 2006

(OLYMPIA) - The Washington State Liquor Control Board issued a 30-day liquor license suspension to the Super Gas & Grocery Store, located at 630 W. First St. in Cheney. The suspension is effective at 10 a.m. September 25 and concludes at 10:00 a.m. on October 25, 2006.

On August 15, the store’s owner sold beer to a 19 year-old minor without asking for any identification from him.

The Super Gas & Grocery is licensed to sell beer and wine. While the suspension is in effect, the store may not sell, remove or receive any alcohol on or from the premises, but it may remain open for other services if it so chooses.

This is the Super Gas & Grocery Store’s third sales of alcohol to an underage person(s) violation within the past two years.

Please contact WSLCB Spokane Enforcement Lieutenant Blair Smith, at (509) 625-5515 with any questions.
