OLYMPIA – The Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLCB) will
open a state liquor store in Snoqualmie on a temporary basis until
construction of a permanent store in North Bend is complete.
The temporary store, located at 38565 River St. in Snoqualmie, will
open on April 11, 2008. Store hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday. The store, located about two blocks off Railroad Avenue,
is 3,730 square feet.
The WSLCB closed the North Bend State Liquor Store located at 470 E.
North Bend Way on Nov. 24, 2007, and sought an alternative location
in the area.
Permanent location secured
The WSLCB has found a permanent store location in North Bend that
meets the agency’s requirements for retail space, parking and
product off-loading.
The new store, which is currently under construction, will be
located in the Mountain Valley Center on Mt. Si Boulevard. It will
be open for business by January 2009, barring any changes in the
current outline of Phase II construction in the center. The store
will be about 5,546 square feet, and is located in an area
convenient for both North Bend residents and customers traveling
over the mountains.
Although there is a moratorium on all additional construction in the
community due to lack of water rights, the WSLCB was fortunate to
find a location that has been included under a grandfather clause
that will allow the agency to move forward with the new store.
State and contract liquor store and product information is available
on the Washington State Liquor Control Web site at
www.liq.wa.gov.
