FOUR LIQUOR LICENSEES CAUGHT SELLING TO MINORS

January 19, 2000

Tacoma- Liquor Control Board agents issued four service to minors violations during a emphasis patrol in University Place and Fircrest on Saturday, January 15.

Two 18 year olds were sent into 14 licensed liquor establishments to try and purchase alcohol. Of the 14 locations, the two minors were able to buy alcohol at 4 locations. All but one violator examined the I.D.

The following licensees received a violation for serving to minors:

  • Cheers West, 7102 27th St. W., University Place
  • El Torro IV, 3820 Bridgeport Way W., University Place
  • U.P. Station, 8305 27th St. W., University Place
  • Kricket’s West, 6520 19th St. W., Fircrest

In addition to the four liquor violations the emphasis patrol also issued the following citations:

  • 9 DUI’s
  • 1 Drug Related Arrest
  • 15 Criminal Arrests
  • 3 Alcohol Related Arrests
  • 1 Warrant Arrest
  • 45 Traffic Violations
  • 11 Seat Belt Violations

The Pierce County Traffic Safety Task Force has been in place for two years and consists of police personnel from Fircrest, Fife, Lakewood, Dupont, Pierce County Sheriff, and Liquor Control Board enforcement agents.
