April 29, 1999 WINNERS SELECTED FOR 1999 DRUG-FREE WASHINGTON MONTH POSTER DESIGN CONTEST The winners of the seventh annual Drug-Free Washington Month Poster Design Contest were announced today by The Washington State Liquor Control Board and Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction Members of the Liquor Control Board selected the winners which will be honored Friday, April 30 at rallies in Spokane and Seattle. All winners receive prizes and recognition by their school and community. First place winners will have their original artwork framed and matted as well as reproduced and distributed to all Washington schools. They also receive a portable compact disc player, a framed certificate, ribbon and art supplies. Second and third place winners receive a framed certificate, ribbon, and art supplies. The King County Community Organizing Program and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission donated the prizes for this year's contest. Each student who participated will receive a certificate signed by Governor Gary Locke, Eugene A. Prince, Chairman of the Liquor Control Board, and Dr. Terry Bergeson, State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The Washington State Liquor Control Board and Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction are the sponsors of the poster design contest.
