Distributor 10% Fee Extension
2013 Legislation (Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5644) changed the 10% distributor license issuance fee on total sales. Under the new law, the length of time that a distributor must pay the 10% fee increased from 24 months to 27 months from the date of licensure. This applies to all licensees that have the requirement to pay the distributor fee. Beginning with the 28th month, the distributor fee reduces to 5%.
Former SLS/CLS 17% Fee Exemption
Beginning with sales on July 1, 2013 (the 3rd quarter report due on October 25, 2013), the former contract and state liquor stores will be exempt from paying the 17% fee for on-premise spirit sales. The exemption only applies to on-premise sales; the 17% fee is still required to be paid on consumer sales. Stores will still need to pay the 17% fee for on-premise spirit sales for the 2nd quarter reporting which is due on July 25, 2013.
